My fellow desketeer and I had a laugh about the nature of the questions we answer every day, and I have read the same on other library blogs.
"Where is the bathroom?"
"The printer is out of paper."
"May I borrow some headphones?"
I work a few evenings at a local community college library, and most of our students are very self-sufficient. The questions are overwhelmingly of a practical nature and we do little reference. Fellow desketeer and I are very philosophical about this: we are both happy to help students in whatever their realm of need. And this keeps us in a job.
Plus, if the body is not happy, the mind cannot rest!
